I don't like the clear plastic pads, mostly because I think they look stupid. I am not a fan of felt pads because, they wear out too fast and then just look crummy. Again, it looks super sharp Negrini even finished the edges of the pad with a white pleather border. What I like about it is that it's oversized and fills the whole bell guard interior sides and all. It uses just standard plastic foam instead of neoprene. But, it's pretty different than the foil one. Although, the standard 100mm pad fits all my other (LP Titanium) guards just fine. So for the Vniti guard you have to order the 90mm pads. The one caveat I have about them is that the 100mm neoprene Negrini pads don't fit Vniti foil guards very well, essentially the Vniti guard is much "flatter" and less domed then a Negrini guard so it has less interior surface area. And also because the cut out for the foil socket is really small and work better with LP/ PBT/ Prieur shaped 2-prong sockets.

I like them because they're soft and look sharp. On the foil the pads are made of neoprene (wetsuit material) with a blue fabric cover. That said, I switched most of my blades over to Negrini Bell Pads. LP and PBT pads feel pretty similar to them though. Those things were the best, they were thick, squishy, and super durable. I used to hoard Santelli bell pads like a dragon hoards gold. Interested in other kinds of swordplay?
